Screening for Immunodeficiency
There are children who seem to be ill more frequently than their siblings or peers. Some children have very specific defects in their immune system which does not allow the body to fight off infection easily.
Tests can be done to find which branch of the immune system has a defect. By addressing this immune issue directly, the child can receive specific treatment. Treatment helps to prevent the recurrent infections which negatively impacts on their general wellbeing.
